Accreditations
Institutional accreditations determine the extent to which university programs meet the rigorous quality criteria which are required in specialized professional fields. We strongly believe that relevant accreditations are the means through which our programs are benchmarked against best practice.
National Business Education Accreditation Council (NBEAC)
NBEAC function at the national level as an accreditation authority within its scope to facilitate enhancing
the quality of business education in Pakistan. Dr. Hassan Murad School of Management (HSM), has been awarded 5 years accreditation (2023-2028) with the ‘W’ Category (highest) accreditation by NBEAC for BBA and MBA programs. This accreditation signifies that UMT's business programs meet the rigorous
standards set by NBEAC, ensuring quality education and preparing students for success in the business
world.
National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC)
The Higher Education Commission has set up an accreditation authority, National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC). NCEAC will look after the matter regarding the accreditation of institutions and their departments, faculties and disciplines by giving them appropriate ratings and define the organization's objectives, functions and duties to be performed.
Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners (PCATP)
The Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners Ordinance 1983 was promulgated with a view to give recognition and protection to the profession of architecture and town planning in Pakistan.
The PCATP is authorized to perform all functions and to take steps connected with or ancillary to all aspects of the two professions including laying down standards of conduct, safeguarding interests of its members,
assisting the Government and national institutions in solving national problems relating to the professions, promotion of reforms in the professions, promotion of education of these professions, reviewing and advising the
Government in the matter of architecture and town planning education, etc.
Pakistan Engineering Council
Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) has accredited UMT’s engineering programs.The Pakistan Engineering Council is a statutory body, constituted under the PEC Act 1976 (V of 1976) amended upto 24th January 2011, to regulate the engineering profession in the country such that it shall function as key driving force for achieving rapid and sustainable growth in all national, economic and social fields.
The idea behind 4-years Bachelor of Professional Studies (BPS) is to add value to the applied knowledge and learning of fresh high school graduates and current working professionals, so that they can be specifically the professional workplace requirements.
National Agriculture Education Accreditation Council (NAEAC)
administered by HEC Pakistan accredited UMT’s Food Science and Technology program in 2019. NAEAC was established in 2008 by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan to implement a comprehensive policy of accreditation of degree programs in the field of agriculture and allied disciplines against the set policies, procedures, and criteria to assure high quality and standards of education.
The Council is responsible for publishing a list of ranking against accredited qualifications/programs, and to promote intellectual enhancement and understanding of subject areas. Besides, the NAEAC is mandated to provide guidance for the improvement of the existing educational programs and development of future programs leading to the agriculture profession.
NATIONAL TECHNOLOGY COUNCIL PAKISTAN
NATIONAL TECHNOLOGY COUNCIL ( NTC ), is the body delegated by Higher Education Commission (HEC) under sub-section (e) of section 10, of the ordinance No LIII of 2002,dated 11th September 2002 and HEC No.19-3 /HEC/HRM/2015/9721 dated 7th September 2015, published in the Gazette of Pakistan October 2,2015.
NTC has a mandate to carry out accreditation of all 4 year programs leading to technology degrees over a span of 16 years of learning. The Accreditation is to be used to ensure that quality technology education programs are run in all the universities in the country. The technology programs and respective Higher Education Institutions meet certain defined standards comparable to international standards. The technology education curriculum is aligned with guidelines of HEC and ensures Continual Quality Improvement culture, in the spirit of Outcome Based Education (OBE) system in conformance with Sydney Accord.
Pakistan Bar Council (PBC)
The Pakistan Bar Council is the highest elected body of lawyers in Pakistan established under an Act of the Parliament. The Attorney-General for Pakistan is its ex-officio Chairman. The Members of the Pakistan Bar Council are elected on the basis of a single transferable vote by Members of the Provincial Bar Councils.
The Pakistan Bar council exercises general control and supervision over the Provincial Bar Councils and regulates the entry of lawyers into the legal profession.
National Accreditation Council for Teacher Education, (NACTE) Pakistan
Higher Education Commission has setup an accreditation authority, National Accreditation Council for Teacher Education(NACTE).
NACTE will look after the matter regarding the accreditation of institutions and their departments, faculties and disciplines by giving them appropriate ratings and define the organization's objectives, functions and duties to be performed. It will periodically evaluate, scrutinize and monitor the standards followed in different Universities, Degree Awarding Institutions and their affiliated colleges offering education degree programs.
The Pharmacy Council of Pakistan ( PCP)
The Pharmacy Council of Pakistan ( PCP) is a professional body for the accreditation of Pharmacy education and regulation of the Pharmacy profession in Pakistan.It is one of the accredited councils of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan(HEC). It was established under Pharmacy Act,1967 to protect, promote and maintain the health, safety and wellbeing of patients and the public. The Pharmacy Council of Pakistan is a regulatory authority for pharmacies and pharmacists in Pakistan.
Allied Health Professionals Council (AHPC)
Allied Health Professionals Council (AHPC) established to make a uniform standard of basic and higher qualification in various Allied Health disciplines and to consolidate the law relating to the registration of all professionals in various disciplines of Allied Health Professionals. It provides the highest standards of practice, foster professional excellence, and promote continuous learning within the allied health sector. It also provides a platform to encourage collaboration, innovation, and the sharing of best practices among different Universities.
Institute of Food Technologists (IFT)
The Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) is an international, non-profit scientific society of professionals
engaged in Food Science, Food Technology, and related areas in academia, government, and industry.
School of Food and Agriculture Science (SFAS) is the only Institution in Pakistan that has been awarded
the status of IFT HERB-Approved undergraduate program in 2023 . This accreditation recognizes UMT's
commitment to maintaining high standards in the field of food science and technology education.
South Asian Quality Systems (SAQS)
SAQS is an international system of strategic audit and accreditation designed for the
assessment of Schools. University of Management and Technology (UMT), Pakistan has been
awarded 5 years (2023-2028) accreditation by SAQS. This accreditation signifies that UMT meets the
rigorous quality standards set by SAQS for management education institutions. It reflects UMT's
commitment to providing high-quality education and its continuous efforts towards improvement and
excellence.
