Webinar on Industry-Academia Linkages

A strong “Industry-Academia Linkages” ensures that the development activities, adoption of knowledge, skill development and research in a university is oriented towards demand in the market and in the society. AAQIC organized a webinar on December 14, 2020 in pursuance to develop linkages with the potential industrial sectors of Pakistan, and to bridge the gaps between industrial needs and academic research organized a webinar. Mr. Salim Ghauri – Founder & Chief Executive Officer NetSol Technologies Ltd. Pakistan was invited as a guest speaker to address the challenges lethal for growth.

The session was joined by Mr. Abid H.K Shirwani – Director General, Mr. Asif Saeed Haider – Director AAQIC, Mr. Aamir Abbas Chaudhry – GM AAQIC, Deans/Directors, and faculty members. In the session, Mr. Ghauri explained the benefits of IAL in a society that leads to innovation, generation of new products, and technologies. He advised to update and streamline the curriculum relevant to the needs of industry. Universities need to provide enabling environment to students in order to increase their creativity and productivity. He further highlighted to make collaborations that lead to curriculum design and its delivery through partnership models which include hands-on training, industrial tours, and specialized training programmes.
