Tuesday, December 29 2020
The Higher Education Commission has devised a new “Undergraduate Education Policy 2020”. The policy inculcates objectives and framework for Undergraduate Education, that is, education programs leading to the Bachelor of Studies Degree (BS), Professional Degrees, and the Associate Degrees (AD). It is mandatory for all public and private sector educational institutes/universities to adopt and implement the policy through their statutory bodies like academic councils, etc.
To develop a comprehensive understanding of the policy, the Accreditations and Academic Quality Improvement Cell (AAQIC) has proudly hosted a webinar titled “Q&A session on Undergraduate Education Policy 2020 by HEC” on 29th December. The session was commenced by Dr Syed Zulfiqar Gilani who is heading Post-Secondary Reforms Unit (PERU) at HEC, Islamabad. The speaker addressed questions with relevance to the policy implementation and its impact at UMT. The session was participated by UMT faculty members, Chairpersons, Registrar, Controller, and UMOs. The participants found the session highly informative and engaging. Dr Gilani appreciated UMT efforts for promptly initiating enactment of the policy. He further acknowledged the contributions and endeavors of Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad (Late) in ensuring quality in Higher Education. Mr. Asif Saeed Haider, Director AAQIC commended Dr Gilani for his profound knowledge and active engagement with the participants.
