Post Budget Session by Dr. Hasan Murad School of Management with Maheen Rahman and Sajjeed Aslam

The government unveiled the budget for fiscal year 2021-2022 on 11th June, 2021. According to the budget analysts, the budget is pro-growth and the overall focus is upon expenditures. Accreditations and Academic Quality Improvement Cell (AAQIC) in collaboration with Dr. Hasan Murad School of Management (HSM) arranged a “post-budget dialogue” focusing on the budget implications on manufacturing, agriculture and services sector. The keynote speakers for the session were Ms. Maheen Rahman- CEO Infra Zamin and Mr. Sajjeed Aslam- Head ACCA, Pakistan.
The speakers addressed the Economic Policy of Pakistan, Corridors for Workforce Development, Role of Money Managers, KPIs and Incentive Structure for Taxation. Mr. Aslam stressed the need for serious reform process in Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). Ms. Rahman presented her view point on the future outlook of Pakistan’s economy and that the current budget will bring a fundamental shift in some areas, paving a way for renewed investment and economic activity. The moderator of the session and participants commended the speakers for delivering great insights on the budget.
