Introductory Session on Outcome/Competency-Based Education

Accreditations and Academic Quality Improvement Cell, AAQIC in the pursuit of imparting better marketable skills, competencies and knowledge to the university graduates arranged an introductory event on Outcome/Competency based Education for all Deans/Directors and Chairpersons of schools/institutes.
The presentation was conducted by Mr. Asif Saeed Haider, Director AAQIC. During the presentation he highlighted the significance of OBE and elaborated myriad features of emerging OBE/CBE model viz. goals of OBE/CBE, it’s pillars, differences between Traditional and OBE/CBE, Program education objectives (PEO), Program learning outcomes (PLO), Course learning outcomes (CLO) etc.
He also referred Higher Education Commissions’ initiative to introduce Competency-based education (CBE) at the undergraduate level across the country.
In the later half, Dr. Khalid Naqi gave a brief presentation on personal attributes of a graduate, and shift in the global job market landscape after COVID-19 and how it would impact the prospects of job opportunities. Considering this shift, he highlighted the urgency of revamping the degrees offered by the Universities. He further underscored the significance of Technology quotient TQ of a graduate apart from Emotional quotient EQ and Intelligence quotient IQ.
The event was ended with the Q/A session followed by the refreshments.
