Biden- Putin Meeting- Current Affairs

Newly elected American President, Joe Biden through his election campaign has proclaimed to restore US alliances, re-establish US global leadership, use international diplomacy, and promote human rights and democracy. To analyze the geopolitical risks and international developments, Accreditations and Academic Quality Improvement Cell (AAQIC) in collaboration with the Dr. Hasan Murad School of Management (HSM) organized a webinar on 23rd June, 2021. The keynote speakers of the session were Mushahid Hussain Sayed- Analyst/Senator, Senate of Pakistan and Michael Kugelman- Analyst Wilson Center, Washington DC. The moderator for the session was Saima Amjad- Vice President, Askari Bank Ltd.
Following talking points were taken into consideration during the session: Pakistan and US stance on Afghanistan peace process, US-China rivalry, Biden’s position towards three key US rivals — Iran, China and Russia, and US policy on Kashmir. The session was informative and provided an opportunity for participants to understand the recent developments after the Biden-Putin meeting and the implications for South Asia and Pakistan.
