2nd Training Workshop on Competency / Outcome Based Education

The quality of teaching matters the most in higher education. In order to foster a conducive learning environment and implementation of innovative evaluation instruments, Accreditations and Academic Quality Improvement Cell (AAQIC) organized a training workshop on Competency / Outcome Based Education (OBE) on 7^th October, 2020.

The training was delivered by Mr. Asif Saeed Haider, Director AAQIC. The workshop was attended by all Deans / Directors and CoDs. Dr. Muhammad Aslam, Rector UMT was also present in the training. The workshop shed light on OBE objectives and the several steps through which it can be implemented in current teaching practices at UMT. Director AAQIC stated the significance of Program Educational Objectives (PEOs), Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs), Mapping between POs to PEOs. The workshop also addressed how OBE is different from traditional teaching practices and its effectiveness in current education scenarios. The objective of the training was to enlighten faculty on curriculum design, and the emerging need of OBE education across all Schools. The participants actively participated in the training and showed keen interest in adopting OBE as a modern teaching and learning approach.
