Facilities at UMT
UMT believes in offering the best facilities to its students. As such, the UMT Campus offers more than an educational and research environment. Students have access to recreation and leisure as well as state-of-the-art computing and lab facilities, hostel residency for out of station students, and a well maintained and efficient transport service.
Library and Learning Resource Center
UMT supports its academic programs and research initiatives through a state-of-the-art Library and Learning Resource Center (L&LRC). The intrinsic focus of the L&LRC is to make available the persistent intellectual linkage required to build specific resources, and pave the way towards attainment of rare to-be-found scripts, contents and substances for researchers and students. The well stocked library and Learning Resource Center has over 115,000 books to facilitate learning and research, 70 foreign and local journals, 15 online databases, 300,000 digital resources, 15 annually subscribed foreign journals, 7 special collections and 1 Learning Disability Center. The corporate clients, students and alumni who use the services and resources of the L&LRC term it as the treasure-house of knowledge.
Laboratories
UMT is equipped with 50+ science, engineering and textile laboratories to provide hands-on learning and practical experience to students. The learning is augmented through practical work done in these laboratories. The laboratories are regularly upgraded and expanded to provide a world-class learning experience to our students.
IPC (Information Processing Center)
Information Processing Center (IPC) at UMT provides state-of-the-art facilities. IPC serves 2000-3000 participants daily. Its standards meet the international requirements of highly advanced IT equipment and services including Intel® Core i7, Intel® Core™ i5 systems, 8 computer classrooms, 3 HP 9050 heavy duty laser printers, 52 Mbps CIR Internet bandwidth and scanners and CD/DVD writers.
Transport
UMT provides a reliable and cost effective transport service to both day scholars and hostel residents. Air-conditioned coasters provide shuttle services to the participants at pre-determined routes across the city. The University maintains a fleet of coasters and buses that are available during university hours to transport students and staff members.
Cafeteria
The UMT Cafeteria provides a relaxing environment to its students where they can enjoy meals and snacks during breaks from their studies. The cafeteria offers high quality hygienic food at subsidized rates. Menu items cover snacks, juices, meals, barbecue and much more. Special emphasis is placed on maintaining the highest standards of quality and cleanliness.
Grand Mosque
The UMT management believes that imparting scientific, business and other practical knowledge is not the only part of the mission of a modern university. It is equally important to instill strong moral and ethical values in the students who pass through the doors of our University. Keeping this in view, a Grand Mosque has been built in the university campus. The UMT Grand Mosque caters for the spiritual and holistic development of the students by offering facilities for daily prayers as well as Friday sermons by renowned scholars and speakers.
Hostels
UMT has two separate spacious hostels for male and female participants. The hostels offer independent messing and recreation areas. Pick and drop facility is provided to hostel residents. The hostel life further adds to the already rich learning experience at UMT. The boarders come from diverse social and cultural backgrounds; nevertheless, as part of the community they live like a family. They interact, help, support, encourage, and guide each other and enrich their perspectives.
Students may seek advice from the Office of Information and Admissions at the time of admission in order to secure a place in the UMT Hostels. Students are accommodated on ‘first come first served basis.’
