Code of Conduct
Convocation Rehearsal:
Convocation rehearsal will be held one day before the actual date to ensure that all arrangements are made in a befitting manner. This will provide an opportunity to the organizers to assess the performance everyone responsible for arranging the Convocation. In case any short coming comes in to notice, the same will be rectified immediately to suit the occasion.
Registering for Convocation:
All graduating participants must register in order to participate in convocation. The following steps are mandatory to register and participate in convocation:
- A non-refundable, Convocation Registration fee of PK Rs. 2000/= to be paid by November 18th, 2014
- On payment of Convocation Registration fee, a participant shall be eligible to receive Invitation & Identity Card for Rehearsal and Convocation day from UMT Office of Registrar.
Please note that this fee is separate from Robe Rent which is refundable.
Please note that on rehearsal & convocation day, no one will be allowed to enter University premises and inside the ceremony without Invitation & Identity Card due to Security concerns. Degree will also be issued only to participants with valid Invitation & Identity cards.
Discipline & Behavioral Instructions
Dress Code:
Male and female students should both be in full formal dresses.
Discipline & Behavior:
- Cooperate with Convocation Disciplinary Committee (CDC), and members of Faculty and Staff, and follow their directions during rehearsal as well as convocation ceremony to make it a memorable day for you.
- Maintain discipline at all times during rehearsal as well as convocation ceremony.
- Be professional and present mature behavior.
- Cell Phones are not allowed.
- Avoid disrupting the ceremony for taking snaps.
- Avoid littering, gossiping, and roaming around aimlessly.
- Walk in line, follow the rhythm, and remain seated once inside the ceremony hall.
- All graduating participants are expected to enter and exit the ceremony hall along with their schools/Institutes as directed by CDC, or Faculty/Staff.
- Do not leave the ceremony once you have stepped down of the stage. Only leave the ceremony on your turn, along with your school in accordance with the ceremony decorum.
- Smoking is strictly prohibited.
- Cameras and other electronic gadgets are also not allowed in the university premises.
Establishment of Reception Desks
On Convocation day, the following three Reception Desks will be established at the site of Convocation:
Reception Desk for Graduating Participants:
The Graduating Participants and all other Officials dressed up in their prescribed robes will assemble according to the given plan at the Reception Desks. They will be specially received and greeted by the University staff posted at the Reception Desk.
Reception Desk for Guests
All Guest invitees will be received at the Guest Reception Desk with respect and honor. They will be guided to occupy their allotted seats by the given time which will be at least 20 minutes before the start of the Convocation.
Reception Desk for Patron and the Board of Governors
The Chief Guest and Chairman Board of Governors will be received by the Rector, Registrar, Deans and Directors of UMT at the appointed time and taken to the Reception Desk for Patron and the Board of Governors to put on their academic robe.
