UMT Campus

The current physical infrastructure accommodates seating capacity for 125 persons and comprises of a general study area, study carrels, combined study room, audio/video room, and newspapers/magazine/journals' reading lounge, circulation desk, reference desk, and office space for 14 professional and para-professional staff members.

Level I

  • Single Interface Customer Interaction Center – issue/return, customer support, research assistance, literature assistance, general help, assistance and guidance
  • Multi-media learning – group and individual
  • Learning commons – interactive/collaborative learning and individual learning areas
  • Conference/meeting / break-up room
  • Coffee and printing shop
  • Magazines, journals and newspapers display and reading areas
  • General seating capacity
  • Search on the go – terminals (8)
  • Staff area – chief library officer, officers and other support staff
  • Library security gates based on EM/RFID technology to secure library materials and provide customers/learners access to library facilities with dignity without any embarrassment of manual searching

Level II

  • Video conferencing/training room
  • Recording studio – to record the lectures of guest speakers and high profile visitors
  • Research Data Curation Center / PhD / visiting scholars room
  • Dissertation / theses digitization unit
  • Housing capacity of 150,000 collections – general, personal, rare, theses, archives, etc.
  • Individual study carrels – 40
  • General seating capacity
  • Staff area – collection development, processing unit
  • Information searching workstations – computing on the go – 4 workstations

Level III

  • Future expansion – temporarily will be used as examination hall

Level IV & V

  • Residential Learning College, having facility of state-of-the-art class rooms and academic 3 star residential facility
