UMT Welcomes Dr Muhammad Aslam as New Rector UMT

It is a proud moment for UMT as Dr Muhammad Aslam has been appointed as Rector of the University of Management and Technology. The investiture ceremony took place on May 22, 2017 at Conference Hall, UMT, Lahore.
While addressing the investiture ceremony, he thanked Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad, Chairman, ILM Trust and BoG for entrusting him with UMT leadership and shared his vision to serve the academia.
Dr Aslam stated that he was pleased to see that UMT has become one of the best universities of Pakistan as it is offering more than 150 programs, 600+ faculty and 32 departments. He further stated that every day he is learning more about the University activities and hopes that it will flourish further globally during his tenure.
He emphasized that University needs to be promoted fully and can achieve better accreditation in global ranking, if we focus on the faculty and PhD research programs. He commented that more PhD programs should be introduced, so that we can get top ranking. He further added that professional competency, ethics and moral values as a human being are of prior importance. He was also of the view that we need to bridge a gap between industry and organization and we should all work together to achieve academic excellence.
Dr Muhammad Aslam wished Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad all the best for future and thanked UMT community for the support.
