UMT Environmental Protection Society Celebrates World Forest Day

UMT Environmental Protection Society (OPA) in collaboration with Punjab Forest Department (PFD) organized a special event to celebrate the World Forest Day at Jallo Park, Lahore on March 21, 2016. The event started with an awareness walk and a tree plantation ceremony at the end along with several other activities like mili naghma, folk songs and debates by UMT participants.
UMT participants planted two trees as well in the plantation ceremony; first in the name of Rector UMT Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad and the other one bearing the name of Office of Participants Affairs (OPA). PFD also conducted an awareness session on the importance of plantation in environment around us which was very helpful for all the participants. At the end, participants enjoyed a free boating and refreshments by PFD.
