TKS Workshop on Classroom Excellence and Teachers as Leaders

TKS has always taken initiatives to arrange training workshops to enrich the teaching standards across the network. TKS has now taken a step forward and formally established a Center for Teaching Excellence. The prime objective of this Center is to conduct high level training workshops for the TKS teachers/staff/management to bring them at par with the best teaching practices and benchmarks. This Center is executing a series of training workshops that would be in line with the international standards. The current opening is the first step towards this saga of academic excellence and transformational leadership.

The first training workshop of the series was organized on August 20, 2016 at TKS-Head Office nestled in the heart of University of Management and Technology (UMT), Lahore. Teachers in big numbers from different TKS campuses network actively participated in this vibrant training workshop that was mostly based on experiential leaning. This training session was headed by Nusrat Hamdani, Director Academics and her vibrant team.

The prime theme of this training wokshop was based 'Leading Change from the Classroom: Teachers as Leaders' and 'English Language Teaching' by Nusrat Hamdani and 'Teacher Competence Development' by Zareen Khalid, Deputy Director, respectively. The essences of these sessions were the latest tips and techniques that equipped the teachers to understand how to make a distinction in teaching and grooming the students to bring them at par with the best standards.

Later on, teachers were involved in group work and presentations. They were motivated to work in the groups to learn from each other’s experiences. The group leaders presented their group work and the evaluators critically discussed their shortcomings to enhance their teaching techniques and capacities by suggesting them practical tips to move ahead. This learning session was quite interactive and helped a the participants’ to think and practically demonstrate the skills they have learned to create a learning impact.

This purpose oriented training workshop climaxed with the certificate distribution ceremony which was presided by Muhammad Zahid Warriach, CEO-The Knowledge School Network. The CEO-TKS delivered a wonderful speech and shared real life examples from the national and international arena to emphasize teachers to rise to the challenges the contemporary context has set for them. He assured them that Team-TKS shall always facilitate them to move ahead in life. This session summed up on a group photo and a note of thanks and appreciation by the CEO-TKS.
