Round table discussion with US Pakistan Interreligious Consortium (UPIC) Delegation

Delegates attending US Pakistan Interreligious Consortium (UPIC) scheduled from February 7-13, 2015 will visit UMT on February 12, 2015. They will be given a brief on the activities of the Center for Global Dialogue (CGD). The delegation will also be taken on a tour of UMT which will be led by Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad, Rector UMT.

The UPIC sessions are scheduled in International Islamic University, Islamabad, Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) and University of Management and Technology (UMT), Lahore. The sessions will comprise of discussions on US Pakistan Relations, report on ongoing UPIC activities, discussions on interfaith cooperation, etc. A round table discussion focusing on challenges and possibilities of interfaith encounter will be held at UMT during which faculty members and PhD candidates will present their views.

It is worth mentioning that the delegation includes representatives from US, UK and Pakistan. They included Rev. Bob Chase, Founding Director of Intersections International, Rabbi Dr Reuven Firestone, Regenstein Professor in Medieval Judaism and Islam, and Christina Tasca, Executive Director of the Muslim Community Network.
