HEC Awards NRPU Grant to Research Project of Dr Mudassar Abbas, UMT Faculty Member

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has given provisional approval to the project of UMT faculty member Dr Mudassar Abbas. The 3-year project titled ‘Silver Nanoparticle Compound Materials for Advanced Biocidic Application’ will cost Rs 7,205,348/- and a laboratory will be set up for successful implementation of the project. The research proposal was submitted to the HEC through the UMT Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC).
The research grant has been awarded under the National Research Program for Universities (NRPU). It is worth noting that the NRPU has been initiated by the HEC to meet the current challenges of researchers working in local universities/DAIs of Pakistan and to promote R&D with facilitation. On this remarkable accomplishment, Rector UMT and the entire UMT community extends heartiest congratulations to Dr Mudassar. This achievement also serves as a benchmark whereby all UMT faculty members are encouraged to contribute to research in their respective areas.
