Dr Hasan Appreciates NBEAC Team for Organizing 4th Deans and Directors Conference

National Business Education Accreditation Council (NBEAC) held 4th consecutive Deans and Directors Conference at Serena Hotel, Islamabad, on February 7-8, 2017.

Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reform, was the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the two-day conference. Speaking on the occasion, Ahsan Iqbal said that business education has witnessed a remarkable transformation as it is linked to almost every sphere of life. He said that education improves social, mental and intellectual skills of a person making him productive for society.’ He stressed on the need for aligning investment in education with production and development for Pakistan’s prosperity in a real sense.

The conference was graced by Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad, Rector UMT and Chairman NBEAC, Dr Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman Higher Education Commission, Pakistan (HEC), Senator Mushahid Hussain and Asad Umar. Dr Mukhtar Ahmed urged the conference participants to come up with solutions for the challenges faced by business education in the country.

 

Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad congratulated NBEAC on their 10th Anniversary. Dr Hasan mentioned that we have a total of 129 business schools out of which 70 are public sector and 59 are private sector. Pakistani business schools are benefiting from the accreditation process of NBEAC and we strongly believe that there will be an improvement in the quality of business schools.

The conference was chaired by Dr Sadia Nadeem, Associate Professor, FAST, Islamabad, and co-chaired by Dr Muhammad Mohsin Khan, NBEAC Member and Director Institute of Management Sciences, Peshawar. A large number of Deans, Directors, HoDs, Senior faculty members and other stakeholders linked with higher education business units, as well as Industry Experts and Entrepreneurs attended conference. Out of 180 business schools, representatives of 167 schools attended the conference.

Dr Hasan concluded the two day conference and gave a vote of thanks to all the participants, speakers, panelists and organizers. He applauded the efforts of the NBEAC team in successfully conducting the 4th Deans and Directors conference and wished them best of luck for the future. He announced that the 5th Deans and Directors Conference will be held in Gwadar city next year. He also mentioned that suggestions and recommendations for the next conference are welcome on Sli.do, Hashtag #REC.
